Do you have God’s spirit?

Many of us are Christians today but do we really have God’s spirit? Many people would readily answer yes to this question but are we really inhabited by the spirit of God? What many of us do not realise is that though we may be Christians, because of our foundations, we may not have God’s spirit. You may ask which foundation I am talking about.

Well because we come from families where our parents formerly worshiped idols, or may be our grandparents worshiped idols, we need to be disconnected ourselves from this through deliverance. Only after deliverance can our life be joyful and we can thus fully worship Jesus Christ and also live fully our Christian life.

The bible says in John 4:24 that

“God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship in truth and in spirit.”

We can only worship God in truth and in spirit if we have completely disconnected ourselves from our past activities or those of our parents.

Watch out for my next post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<a

I have heard a lot of folks tell me, oh Alfred I could not make it in church because I had a lot to do at home. I have often wondered what somebody would have to do at home that is greater than worshiping God. When you see what these folks where doing either they were playing football or watching TV. Can somebody be really busy to worship God? I think all depends where our priorities are. If you love God, nothing would prevent you from going to church. On the Sabbath day, you would get up very early and go worship him. There is no excuse not to do it. The bible says we should love God with all our mind, our soul and our heart and we should love our neighbors like ourselves. When you truly love him, you would be more than ready to serve him under any circumstances.

Something that has worked for me is to prepare the next day the night before. I usually choose the dress I would wear, I prepare my offering on Saturday and I go to bed early latest at 10 pm so that I can wake up early too. On Sunday morning, everything is already prepared and I just have to wear my clothes, get my bible and I am gone to church. I usually have two services per week on Wednesdays and on Sundays and I never miss a service. I think you too reading this article can do the same if you plan your life as I do. There is nothing you cannot achieve by planning. I hope you would put God first in your life like I do. I wish you all a nice day.

I stumbled upon this today while working on my computer. Friends, do you all know a simple secret that has never failed all successful people you know today. Whatever are your goals or vision in life this secret will always produce results. And it does not even matter whether you have the money or talent or skills. All you have to do is to try it and you would see that it works each time.

This secret is to try whatever thing God has put into your heart to do. It might be that you want to start a business, or go back to school or take a course or even start a ministry. Start doing that thing today with whatever means God has placed in your hands. Do no longer procrastinate on this thing but start doing it today. Procrastination is the number one enemy of success. To be successful in your life you must stop putting off things you want to do.

I remember one pastor friend who recently testified that God put in his mind to start a ministry and he told God but “I do not have a house or money to start”. God told him to use his personal home to start and he would see him through. This man of God started his ministry with even no microphone and with just a handful of members. Today his church runs in to the thousands and it is one of the biggest in Europe. The bible says we should never despite small beginnings.

Some of you would tell me but Alfred, I recently started a business but it failed. How am I sure that if I start something again it would not fail and I would lose my money. The good news is that most businesses fail on the first attempt and only succeed after a second trial. So you do not need to be discouraged because your businesses have failed. There is still much hope ahead. Start another business and you would apply the lessons you learnt in the failed business to the new business and your success would come automatically.

Just try

My scriptural reference is taken today from mark 16:17

These signs shall follow them that believe; they shall cast out demons, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, they shall drink poison and nothing shall do them and …….

Most of us speak in tongues everyday and pray but we do not know the power we carry as we go about our Christian walk. Praying in tongues charges the spirit and empowers us to not just be speakers of the word but doers of it too. Jesus said in the book of John that the things that he did we shall also do and greater things than he did we shall do. If you are not a doer of the word then you are not fully exploiting your Christian walk.

We do not believe we can cast out demons nor heal the sick because we do not try. Yet the bible states in the book of mark that these signs shall follow believers. It is not a promise but something that Jesus has already given out. Despite this power given to us as Christians many believers still l believe that only special men of God can cast out demons and heal the sick. The power has been given to all the Christian body and if you are not using them then it is out of ignorance.

I remember there was once I was in a situation where I had a case in my presence and thee was no man of God present. I had never been confronted with such a situation again and I did not know the power I possessed until I had to use it. And just as you see TB Joshua on the television, I laid my hand on this sick person and I declared and I saw the guy started manifesting. Ii remember every person was afraid of this guy but I took my courage in my hands and I prayed for this guy and I was amazed after three days to find him completely healed and healthy.ab

How to fire up your faith.

A lot of people believe that as soon as they give their lives to Christ, then they are born again and everything is finsihed in their christian lives. Giving your life to Christ is the beginning of a long journey that has bumps and potholes on the way. One of the ways to resist the devil and guide against backsliding is through faith. (Ephesians 6:16) . The bible says we all have a measure of faith. However, this faith has to be nurtured for it to grow otherwise it dies down.( mark 9:24) . Here are a few ways you can fire up your faith :

1) By regularly attending church services.
You would only have faith by hearing the word of God.(Romans 10:17). The only place you would never get tired of hearing the word of God is in church. Try to make it a duty to attend all church services. At best, join a service unit like ushers, choir that would compel you to attend church services.

2) By studying the word of God.
So, you are a christian and you do not have a bible. How can this be? Invest in a good bible. Read it daily at least 3 pages for a start. More as you continue your christian walk. The devil is only afraid of Christians who know the word of God. He would not even attempt to stop at their doorstep. You need to renew your mind everyday by reading your bible so as to chase away old thoughts and replace them with the word of God.

3) Prayers.
The first sign that your faith has gone down is when you cannot pray or don’t pray enough. Learn to spend time with God daily by praying to him. Prayers is a means that we communicate with God and we hear from him. Jesus cautioned his disciples to pray lest they fall into temptation. (Mathew 14:38) . Are you praying?

4) By singing praises and worship.
It amazed me how a lot of Christians close their mouths. Open your mouth and declare scripture instead staying quiet. I heard this one from Prophet Kevin Nuduba, a preacher based in kumba, Cameroon. Paul and Silas story is a good illustration of the power of praise and worship.( Acts 16:16). After they were locked up for saving a fortune teller woman, they started off praying but later they switched to praise and worship at midnight and the prison gates crumpled liberating them. Learn to sing praises and worship to the Lord whether in your house, in your car, at work, in your bathroom and kitchen.

5) The fear of the Lord.
You must always have the fear of the Lord with you at all times. As soon as you stop fearing the Lord, sins takes root in your life. Joseph could only avoid the temptation of sleeping with Portiphar’s wife because he feared the Lord. He didn’t want to displace his master. ( Genesis 31:1-3)

These are a few tips of how you can revive your faith. Do you know of any i omitted? Register them in the comments below.

How to know God’s plan for your life.

My scriptural reference is taken from Jeremiah 29:11,
“I alone know the plans i have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. ”

God has a plan for each of us. God’s plan in our lives is the purpose why we were created. God’s plan in the lives of Isaiah and Jeremiah was for them to be Prophets or messengers of God. Moses’ purpose was to lead the children of Israel up to the Jordan while Joshua’s was to lead them after the river Jordan.

Your own plan for your life is your ambition but God’s plan for your life is the reason why you were created. When God calls you, he would give you the abilities for your mission. Mosses was a stammerer but still he led the children of Israel. Jeremiah was a young but still God gave him abilities to achieve his mission. God’s plan for your life is wise. (Isaiah 28:29) .

How, then, do you know God’s plan for your life? Listen to the voice of God. God spoke to Mosses and Jeremiah. He revealed Joseph’s plan for his life through dreams that his brothers and father would bow to him and it eventually happened. God would speak to you too. Just be attentive to his voice.

Discover God’s plan for your life today and release the greatness in you. You would only be a successful doctor, lawyer, businessman, pastor, prophet, accountant if that was God’s plan for your life. I wish you all a nice day.

Have God-confidence not self-confidence.

Before i gave my life to Christ, I used to believe in my personal ability to make things happen in my life. I knew that whatever thing, good or bad, that happens in my life was out of my personal effort. In-fact, I use to call it “action personnel” or personal effort which i derived from self-confidence.

However, since i gave my life to Christ, I now have God-confidence. Whatever i want, i submit it to God and he gives it to me. (Mathew 7:7) . I have adopted the discipline to always thank my provider for fulfilling everyone of my prayer requests. The testimonies are many but i would share this one.

I remember while living and studying in Denmark, there was a time i was having difficulties in paying my school fees. I contacted all my friends and even the bank but it turned out nobody could help me. I was depressed and desperate. Then i turned to God and told him only him could do it for me. I submitted him the problem. And to my utter surprise, i got some money from an association i was a member. Not only did i pay all my fees but the school reimbursed me extra money as surplus.

It is often said that if you know how something happened, it is not from God. When it is from God, you would not know how it came about. Learn, therefore, to have God-confidence not self-confidence. I wish you all a nice day.
