A dream is defined as a series of mental images and emotions occurring during sleep. We all dream in one way or another and to varying degrees. Dreams can mean many things in our lives and there are many things that dreams can signify. There are dreams we call nightmares which are often bad dreams because they are about something unpleasant in our lives. There are also dreams that announce something good.

God can talk to us through dreams or warn us of something to come. The bible says in the book of numbers 12.6 “If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.”

So, as we can see in this beautiful piece of scripture, we can see that God is saying to Aaron that he speaks in vision and in dreams. God would warn us about what to come or about a danger in front to avoid. And by obeying what God is telling us we can fulfill the purpose of God in our lives.

Another thing I realized is that when we are worried about something we dream a lot about that thing and by the way when we are worried we are not a doer of the word because we do not walk according Philippians 4:6. Because we have anxiety, we dream about the different outcomes of that thing we are worried about. We can equally dream about some activity we did during the day.

There are some dreams which are not good dreams. For example, when we dream of eating in the dream or being given food that is not a good dream. The devil passes through dreams to afflict us. It is therefore important to always remember our dreams or write them down and share them with the pastor the next day.
Personally, God has spoken to me several times through dreams. The last time I remember was before I left Denmark. What the almighty told me eventually came to pass in my life. This confirmed to me that God speaks to us in dreams and visions.

man dreaming

man sleeping and dreaming.

I was prompted to write this post because of a comment I heard a friend make recently. He said, “Pastors dem di ask money too much for church”. It literarily means pastors ask for too much money in church. I do not know under what circumstances this guy was saying this but is certain is that a church is a nonprofit organization and so it needs money from its fellow members to survive. Some people complain that every time they go to church they give offerings and yet they still ask them for many other contributions.

Now where does the money you give to church each Sunday go to? Well this is a good question that is worth asking. This money is used to pay some church ministers, develop the church and buy sundry items in the church. You may think that it is too much money but when you consider all that is required from paying the rents to buying communion and paying for some development projects in the church, it is not that too much. Depending on where the church is, if the church is doing construction or opening more branches then it would need more money to expand. For once, you may complain about it but nobody forces you to remove money from your pockets, you do it out of your own free will.

I was listening to one man of God recently and he was asking how you expect him to pray for you when his stomach is empty. You may ask yourself why can he not use the offering and tithes that members give in church to feed himself? Well, that is nothing compared to his needs and the needs of the church. What is certain is that if you do not bless the church or the man of God with your needs, you would end up worshiping those means. Which is better? Give or keep all your money to yourself?

The bible says in Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat
in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

You are only going to receive if you give and you give cheerfully. I hope you would start giving and not continue complaining about pastors asking a lot of money. Your money does not go into their private pockets but into the church’s coffers.

I was prompted to write this post because of a testimony of a man of God I recently heard. This man of God recounted how he was ordered by God to give his only car to another man of God. The interesting thing about this is that the man of God he was directed to give his car keys was at the forefront of those slandering him. He said all types of bad things about this man of God. Despite all this the man of God had to obey God and give his car keys. This was a very courageous act on the man of God. He did not consider all the bad things said about him but he went ahead and obeyed God and gave his car keys.

This gave me a good lesson in life. The best way to conquer evil is to do good. Do not mind the things people say about you. You should instead mind what God says about you. I came to realize mouths were created to speak so I have stopped to care what people say about me. Those things do not matter to me because they do not make me who I am. I am instead concern in following the plan of God in my life. What God thinks about me is more important than what any human being can think about me. They did not create me so why should I bother?

And for my friends who are very good at gossiping about other people, you can do better things with your life instead of spending your time talking about other people. There is a lot to do in life that I am surprised how people find the time to gossip about other people. The best way to stop a bad habit is to start a good one. Refuse to say anything negative about anybody and you would live a happier more fulfilled life. Only say good things about people or say nothing at all and you would see how your life would be transformed. I wish you all a nice day.

A lot of Christians go to church and as soon as the church service finishes most of them pack their bibles and immediately leave the church. This is all fine except for one thing: the church needs your helping hand to run efficiently. Some Christians ask themselves donot I pay tithes and offerings in church? Why should they ask me again to come and do something in the church? Some would say I am too busy and I do not have time for that. Friends we are all busy but yet we still find time to do something in the house of God. You too can do it and reap the dividends of a happy and fulfilled live. The pastor should not tell you before you start doing it. You should choose something to do by yourself.

There are benefits in doing something in the house of God. Firstly, it helps you to keep up your spiritual life. By joining the choir, the ushers, or the translators, you keep yourself busy in the house of God and so you find it an obligation to always be in church. Secondly, you are sick free. Serving God and doing something in the house of God permits you to go weeks upon weeks sick free. The bible says in the book of Mathew that he himself took away our sickness and diseases and by his stripes we are healed. Thirdly, doing something in the house of God makes us to be joyful all the time. The bible says that we should rejoice and give thanks to God at all times. Finally, it makes us build relationships and contacts. The easiest way to get to know many church members is by doing something in the house of God.

Friends, there is a lot to do in the house of God. Whether you are cleaning, ushering or teaching you can always pick something to do in the house of God. There is no excuse in not participating in the works of God. Start today and you experience God’s blessings in your life.

So I was about to sleep today when I thought about this topic. So what is persistence actually? Persistence is determination. It is the will to succeed no matter what. It is sticking to something until you see a result. You might be saying in your minds what does that has to do with you. Well, friends, the mastery of this quality is very important if you are to do anything in life. There is actually nothing we can achieve in life if we do not learn how to persist.
For example, whether it is a job you are looking for or a project you are starting or an undertaking you are beginning, you must stick in there until you see results. If you are looking for a job, you do not have to give up nor get discouraged until you get that job. If it is a project you are working on, you should not give up until you have finished that project. Persistence is doing whatever you are doing until the end of it. It is sheer determination. The ability to move on despite multiple setbacks.
There are several examples in history of people who persisted until they saw results. Abraham Lincoln failed multiple times but still persisted and he finally became the president of the United States of America. So, friends, persist in whatever you are doing right to the end and God would bless you with the results.

I know a lot of people would be asking themselves where I am going to with this topic. Well, friends this is a serious topic if you imagine how many of us engage in it. The way we use our money today would determine the outcome of our lives tomorrow. Using our money wisely would either make us rich or poor in the future.

I have been digging in the bible and the closest I found to this topic is the word covet which means to desire what belongs to somebody else. The bible says not to covet something that belongs to somebody else. Now what happens is that most of us buy things because we saw them with somebody else. That ipad you desire, that iphone you desire, that computer you are planning to buy; do you really need them or are you just trying to meet with a friend or somebody else you saw with the same item. Sometimes we go into debt just because we want to meet up with a friend we saw who was driving the lastest car. Of course you could do with a cheaper phone. You can even do without an ipad all together or use public transportation instead using a car that would need even more money for maintenance and other stuff.

I remember when I recently returned to Cameroon, all my friends were cruising in their own personal cars but I have resisted that urge to buy a car now. I knew my money would better be spent in a business venture that would yield dividend and I could buy any car I need after. I have reduced all my expenses to just the barest minimum and I know that by focusing my financial resources in my goals I would reap bigger in the future. Friends there is no reward in buying things because you want to meet up with friends. Buy things that you need and not things you want.

One thing that has helped me is that I wait at least a week before doing an important purchase then I can determine whether I need that article or not. By delaying the purchase, my thinking kicks in and it determines whether I really need that article or not. Friends learn to think before you buy and do not follow somebody else example because your circumstances are not the same.

woman thinking

I am very excited to write about this topic which greatly inspires me. Many of us go through our Christian lives without being doers of the word. The bible says in the book of James 1:22 “but be all of you doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving yourselves”. Are you a doer of the word? What does being a doer of the word actually refer to? Many people do not even know what it means to be a doer of the word. You are a doer of the word when you do not worry about circumstances. The bible states in the book of Philippines 4:6 that “we should not worry nor fret but by prayers, thanksgiving and supplication we should make our request known to the Lord.” Being a doer of the word means we do not have to worry about anything because God is taking of our problems for us. Whatever you are looking for whether it is a child, marriage, a job, healing for a sickness, commit it to the Lord and he would provide it for you.

Also the bible states in Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

If you are a Christian Brother or sister and these signs are not following you then you are not fully tapping into your potential. I know some persons would tell me but I do not have as much grace as the big men of God, how can I do such things. Friends, everybody who believes can cast out demons. The scripture did not say only the big men of God. I used to think along this line too until I was faced with a situation where a guy was possessed and needed help and there was no man of God around. I was the only one who could do something because all the other guys were afraid to approach this guy because they said they did not know where he has put his hands. Notwithstanding, I approached this guy with all the courage and as soon as I laid my hands on his head, he started manifesting. I then took him into bible studies and prayers and before long he was normal again to the glory of God.

So, friends if you are not casting out demons, speaking in tongues and laying hands on the sick then you are not a doer of the word. In addition, you have to be a walking in love too. Go out and start being a doer of the word. Today is the day to start and you would be amazed just what God can do in peoples’ lives. I wish you all a nice weekend.
