Do you multitask?

Multitasking is the performance of many tasks at the same time. It is a quality very much appreciated by employers nowadays. For example, if you are a secretary who can answer calls, be taking down notes and typing at the same time, then you are multitasking.

Multitasking is not only required in the office but at home as well. It would enable you do more things in a short time and hence be efficient. You can for instance be cooking, listening to music and cleaning at the same time. It can also be something like you gardening and holding the baby on your back.

Employers like employees who can multitask because the later can do more in less time and thus save the company time and money. In addition, an employee with several skills can easily do the job of several people thereby reducing labour cost. I have a friend who in the night works as a night watch man in a sawmill and in the day he works in the sawmill. The employer did not mind him doing both jobs because it is somebody he trust.

I hope you start multitasking and thus outperform everybody at your office or impress your spouse at home. Do you have any comments? Please, put in the comments below.

How to overcome your fears.

The recent outbreak of the Ebola virus has brought fear among a lot of people. Not even governments have been left indifferent. I heard of the story of a lady in Nigeria who gave testimony in church how God healed her from the Ebola virus. As soon as she said that, everybody near her fled her, and even the pastor was afraid to approach her.

Fear is an emotion and we should not let emotions rule our life as Christians. Emotions come and go but only the word of God last forever. Apart from the fear of sickness, there are all other types of fear out there. There is ,for instance, fear of failure, fear of death and fear of disgrace.

How can you overcome your fears? You can do that by looking into scriptures. There are a lot of scriptures in the bible where God tells you not to fear because he is there to defend and protect you. In psalms 91:3, it says the Lord would keep you safe from hidden dangers and from deadly diseases. Proverbs 3:25, states that you should not be afraid of sudden death, and Isaiah 41:10 says you should not fear nor be dismayed for God is there to help you. Infact, you only have to fear God himself (Psalms 111:10)

The bible is clear that God did not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7). Romans 8:15 states that you did not receive a spirit of fear, but a spirit whereby you cry Abba, Father.

Remove, then all fears from your life and walk in boldness. The bible says the righteous are as bold as as a lion (Proverbs 28:1) In addition, strive strive to walk in love , for perfect love drives out all fears. (1 John 4:18).

What words do you speak?

“Your words and thoughts are like the rudder of a ship – they may seem small, but they affect the direction of your life. ” Joyce Meyer.

Joyce Meyer is one of those preachers i listen to every other day. Not only was she among the first women to be a preacher but she did it at a time nobody believed a woman could be a preacher. She refused to give up on her dream and today she has a ministry with more than 600 employees and several hours of videos and audios.

Which words do you speak? What comes out of your mouth would dominate you whether you know it or not. If you speak words of defeat, discouragement and failure; they would dominate you. No matter your situation, learn to speak only words of faith. When David was faced with Goliath, he did not speak words of fear. (1 Samuel 17:26). He spoke words of faith despite the fact that Goliath was better armed and bigger than him. He compared Goliath to his God not to himself. He asked, “Who is this heathen Philistine to defy the army of the living God. ” and added, “the lord would put you in my power; I would defeat you and cut off your head. ” Eventually,he defeated Goliath.

Whatever Goliath you are facing in your life, speak only words of faith. Refuse to dwell on the negative. If you are going through a health challenge, do not speak about it. Talk like somebody in good health. Believe God has already healed you. If you are having a delay in having children or getting married, believe that God has already given you a child or a husband. Start thanking God for it and speak about it. Your expectation would eventually manifest itself in your life.

I hope you start speaking words of faith into your life. Please record your thoughts below.

5 tips to excel at you jobside.

We all love it when we are promoted at the job side. Not only do our salaries increase but we are saddled with more responsibilities. These promotions only come about when we excel at the job side and we are noticed by the boss. These are a few tips on how to be outstanding at the job side.

1) Always arrive before everybody and leave after all your co-workers.

Whether you believe it or not, your boss would notice you if you come to work before everybody and you leave among the last. It shows a commitment to your work and proves you want the success of the company.

2) Avoid distractions during work hours.

You should not be chatting with your friend, fidgeting with your phone or loitering about during working hours. It makes it appear as if you do not have work to do and if an employee is ideal, you are not worthy to remain on the payroll. Be focused on the work at hand and concentrate until it is finished.

3) No visits during working hours.

Don’t allow you friends or family to visit you during working hours. They should visit you at home or call you in case of an emergency.

4) Do more than you are required.

You can be given a target by your boss to process 10 files per day. Why not do 12 instead? Take initiative when necessary and your boss would notice you as a hard worker and promotion would naturally follow.

5) Always inform somebody when you cannot make it to the office.

I was talking to a friend the other day who owns a hotel in kumba and he told me some of his employees abstain from work for than three days without informing him. What is difficult to either send a text message or call to explain why you would be absent. Your employer should arrange for somebody to replace you.

I hope you learnt something from these tips. Which others do you know? Write in the comments below.

Are churches dividing families?

With the increasing number of churches and the christian revival now sweeping across Cameroon and Africa in general, a lot of families are experiencing strains because of membership of one of their relatives in a church. This membership has always brought either positive or negative influences on other family members.

On the positive side, one family joining a church had convinced the other family members to join too after witnessing the change in the life of the later. Sometimes,it is a wife joining a church who later pulls her husband and kids. On other occasions, it is a brother or sister joining who later pulls the siblings to follow same.

On the negative side, one family member joining a church has brought confusion and mayhem in some families. On some occasions, family members have gone to beat up a relative who joined a church. Some couples have been at loggerheads because either the wife or husband joined a church and the other spouse is refusing to follow suit. Sometimes, it is a prophet who gives a prophecy that a relative wants to kill another one,and disunity and suspicion enters the family. I have heard of several people saying there was a prophecy that their wife , kids or other siblings wants to kill them.

Sometimes,it is two couples who want to get married and the pastor says God told him that the marriage would not work. Some of these persons have gone on to marry the wrong person which causes resentment against the man of God.

I have always admired one man of God, Prophet T.B Joshua of Synagogue Church Of All Nations Nigeria (SCOAN) . He always emphasizes that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the wicked spiritual forces in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) . So, friends remember this whenever you are given a prophecy against a family member. Also, when you join a church that your spouse is against, seek to convince him by your behavior not what you say. Strive to be patient and the other spouse would be converted. I wish you all God’s blessings and a happy day.

Is everybody “Man of God” nowadays?

It is amazing how even crooks and thieves are using the name “man of God” to orchestrate their wicked plans. Everybody is a “man of God” nowadays. From policemen to scammers and crooks nobody is left behind. Many individuals know that this title confers trust and confidence on them and so they use it to dupe people.

A sister in Christ told me how her mother was almost duped by a false prophet. The later approached a relative who knew everything about her mother and this relative told this false prophet everything that mami was doing. The fake prophet then called this poor woman and starting telling her everything about her life. The woman was so elated that she invited the prophet home so that he could give more prophecies. Unfortunately for him, the said relative told mama everything and this false prophet sensing his life was at risk failed to turn up.

One of my neighbours recently told me that one of his tenants presented himself to him as a pastor and he gave him his apartment to rent. Little did he know that this individual was not a true pastor. The fake pastor ran away with 10 months of rents and he has never been seen him again.

Recently, there was a young man who came to me saying he wanted me to mentor him and teach him the things of God. I never knew that he was part of a gang that sold neighbours block. It was only after my neighbour raised an alarm that he has been stolen that i understood.

So, friends be careful of anyone who comes to you saying he is a “man of God” . Trust him but verify whether he is a true “man of God”. There are a lot of fake “men of God” seeking to dupe people. Please, put your comments below if you have been victim of a dupe. I wish you all a nice day.
