A lot people mistake prosperity for a lot of things that prosperity is not that why I thought of writing this post today. Prosperity is often thought of as having material things such as cars, houses, land and other material things. Having material things is good but that is not all there is to life. However, prosperity is just limited to having material things. Prosperity also means having divine health which means living sick free and spending no money on drugs and other medical bills.

Living in divine health is being prosperous because drugs and other medical expenses can eat so much into our budget. So we should thank God each day for keeping us in divine health and making us healthy and strong. Divine living is possible for every one of us and we have to strive that we live divinely as promised in the bible. There is no other way to do this. In addition to divine health, we are also prosperous when we have peace of mind. The bible says in the book of john that we should forgive before praying so that the peace of God should delve in us while we pray. So, having peace of mind is also being prosperous.

Prosperity is possible to all of us but we have to work hard to claim it. We have to fight hard to be a part of it. We have to seek it with all passion in order to be in it. And we do not have to be discouraged by whatever setback or trials we may be going through. These difficulties and trials are meant to strengthen us so that we can take on the challenges of life without any problem.

Dating can be defined as a form of romantic courtship between two individuals. Courtship is a man seeking the affections of a woman with the intention of getting married to her. Are Christian brothers and sisters allowed to date? I have been asked this question over and over again by people wishing to know whether it is allowed for them to date a Christian brother or sister.

If by dating you are seeking the affection of a woman with the intention of getting married to her then you are in the right path. If you date with the intention of sleeping with the woman, then you are on the wrong path. This is fornication which is greatly denounced in the bible. The bible says in

1 Corinthians 6:17 that we should flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
In 1 Thessalonians 4:3 the bible says “For this the will of the Lord even your sanctification that all of you should abstain from fornication.

Fornication is voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other. We should flee away from fornication as much as we can. Not only should we avoid fornication itself but everything that leads to fornication should be shunned. Things like kissing; touching and cuddling should be avoided by Christian’s brothers and sisters who are not married to each other.

I know there are some Christian brothers and sister who are in a relationship and even sleep with each other. Yet they call themselves born again Christians. Whatever reason that might compel you to be living with a person and even having sex, today is the day to stop and start following the plan of God in your life. If you are a woman and you thing that by sleeping with a man before marriage he would get married to you, you are deceiving yourself. Only commit your body to this man the day both of you get married. By making him to wait, you would know whether he is in for a serious relationship or not.

So it is perfectly normal for Christian brothers and sisters to be friends but anything more than that should be with the intention of getting married and starting a family. Any sexual intercourse or fore play should be avoided during courtship.

I know many of my friends would be wondering what I am talking about here. After all is it not a long time since they left school? Why I am asking them whether they read books or not? I equally graduated from school a long time ago but despite this however I am still reading books and I adore doing it. So, what is there to be gained in reading books? Which types of books are we supposed to read? How is reading books going to help us in our lives? I used to ask myself these very questions. However today as a fervent reader of books I know better.

So let’s go to our question now how is reading going to help you in your live? Well friends, the bible says in Romans 10:10 that we should not conform to this world but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind. Now how do you renew your mind? It is by reading books whether it is the bible or any other book. By reading books we get into the minds of great men and we are able to learn from their experiences. We learn from their mistakes so that we should not fall into the same mistakes.

I personally have made up my mind to read at least 20 pages of my bible and other books in a day. Remember I said at least. So this number might go up on some days. You might ask yourself how do I manage to do this. Well, I know from experience that I read best in the mornings so each time in the morning I just find myself opening and reading my preferred book. It is not that difficult. Start today and you would thank me for this tip. You feed your spirit by praying and meditating on the word of god; you feed your mind by reading and your feed your body by exercising each day.

Friends they say that the best way to start a new habit is to replace it with an old one. Instead of watching your television the whole day, go to your local library and rent a book or go to your local bookshop and buy one. It can be a book on any topic you enjoy. After reading this book look for another one and then another one. Try to read this book every day and over time you would realize that you cannot pass a day without reading. You would be forming a good habit in this way.

There are a lot of churches nowadays and the choice is too many for Christians to select. It seems everybody is out to open their own church. However with the numerous churches outside today, how do you know a good God fearing church? Whatever, church you are attending look out for the following:

The personality of the pastor
It is said a tree is known by the fruits it bears. Nothing is further from the true. The actions of the man of God should give you a general overview of how the church is. A good pastor should be somebody that is humble, who respects his fellow Christians and is not money minded. It is not difficult to spot such a person.

The number of services
You can equally know a good church by the number of services they hold each week. There should be teaching services that develop the Christian and make them study and assimilate more of the word of God.

Do everything according to the word of God
Everything that is done in a good church should be according to the bible. If you find that something is not done according to the bible then you should start questioning the credibility of that church. Make sure that the sermons are taken from the bible and that everything they do is from the bible.

There should be testimonies about what the Lord is doing in the lives of fellow Christians in a good church. Testimonies from other Christians about the works of God in their life should abound and should be numerous as to encourage the gentiles that God exist and he is doing great things in the lives of the Christians.

News hit Cameroon recently about the closure of some churches. It was not good news indeed for the Christian community. Numerous churches were not sure about their fates because either they have not registered with the proper administrative authorities or they were operating clandestinely. Despite the general pandemonium, just a handful of churches where finally closed which shows you cannot temper with the house of God.

The recent move by the government of Cameroon should however be a wakeup call to all promoters of churches to either register their churches or face closure. Not only are there complaints of the churches being too many but there are also complaints that these churches make a lot of noise and also extort money from fellow Christians. This criticism should not be taken lightly by the church administration. There should be a concerted effort among the Pentecostal churches to form an association where their problems would be discussed and where mushrooming churches should be weeded out. Only by taking this concerted effort would the Christian body be respected and given the privileges due. It is high time the churches forget about their rivalry and cooperate to present a strong and unified body in the face of these challenges.

As Christian, our houses of worship should be guarded jealously. They have to cleaned regularly and also taken good care which includes registration and general order in the church of God. The Christian body should not wait for the next crackdown of the government for them to start crying foul play but they should act right now to avert this treatment next time.
