Have you been given a prophecy?

I was recently with one friend and I heard him complain that since the prophet said he would be rich up til now he has not seen any riches in his life. Another friend told me they prophesied in her life long ago that she would be married but as of now she has not yet seen any husband. Friends, I want to tell you that the fact that they prophesied in your life does not means that that prophesy must come true. You do not just go home and start rejoicing after receiving a prophecy expecting to see changes in your life as soon as possible.

You have to work to see this prophecy come through in your life. As you expect to see the prophecy come through in your life, the devil is also working hard to make you not to receive your blessings. So, when you receive a prophecy, do not go home and start sleeping but go on your knees and pray. Pray like you have never done before and have faith that you have already received from God. In addition, you have to be patient and trust God to make his promises come true in our lives.

It is also important that we should not base our whole life on prophecies. We should base our life on the word of God. When we base our life on prophesies, we tend to neglect the word which is food for the spirit.

THE COMING ELECTIONS IN CAMEROON.

I thought about writing about this topic because of the current municipal and parliamentary elections coming up in September 2013. Once more Cameroonians would be called upon to choose their municipal and parliamentary leaders. With the different candidates vying for the various positions, it is but normal that some of those candidates would be Christians.

I know some people would not approve me saying this but despite the fact that elections are coming up in September, I have still not registered to vote. The problem is not that I do not love to vote but rather I think there is no need to do it because the results are known in advance. As most Cameroonians would attest, the elections are often marred by rigging and violence that many Cameroonians find no use to vote and mainly the ruling party candidates are voted in.

Historically, there were two really good politicians who were presidents who are Patrick Chiluba of Zimbabwe and John Atta Mills of Ghana. The fortunes of both men are diverse but these are front runners who did a lot while in office. When you go to the bible in Mathew 22:21, the Pharisees asked Jesus whether it was normal for them to pay taxes to Caesar and Jesus told them to bring him a silver coin. He took it and asked them whose image was there and they said it was Caesar’s. He then ordered them to pay unto Caesar what is for Caesar and unto God what is for God. Which implies Jesus recognized the authority of Caesar.  Again, one of Jesus disciples, Levi, was a former tax collector.

I therefore think it is a good thing for our Christian brothers and sisters to run for elections because by so doing they shine by their actions. The bible says in Mathew 7:20,” by their fruits you shall know them”. Christian candidates must show the way by being accountable and transparent so that the gentiles can do likewise. I wish God’s blessing to all the candidates for the municipal and parliamentary elections.

Rains

It has been raining cats and dogs not only in Limbe but also in Buea. The rains are so intense and it has been raining like this for more than a week now. Of course many people would say it is the raining season, what do you expect?

The rains have never prevented me from going to church. And so I think as a good Christian nothing should prevent you from going to worship God. Nobody should give an excuse that rain made him not to attend church for when you truly love God, he would provide a way for you to find yourself in church.

I remember last Sunday as I was about to leave the house for church it suddenly began to rain and the rains where so intense that I could easily get discouraged from going to church. However, as I step out of the house, I found a taxi just a few blocks away from my home. From there I got another taxi that took me directly to church. Thank God, I arrived in time to church and I was able to attend the service to the glory of God.

So, i decided to start blogging!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to my blog.

Blogging is something I have always wanted to do and thank God I took the step today to start this blog. Many people would obviously wonder why the name Christ2live? This name denotes a Christian blog and recounts a collection of excepts about my Christian life.

Okay, so,I start asking myself what would be my first post? Today I would talk about the weapons of our warfare. My scriptural reference is from

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

I would be talking about the weapons we have for our warfare. For those of you who are not aware, as soon as you give your life to Christ, you are in warfare with forces of darkness who would want to make you do wrong or bring sickness and disease on your body. These principalities are seeking to overthrow our position in Christ and they would continue in their attempts until we go back to Christ. The weapons we have at our disposal are:

  • Clapping
  • Shouting
  • The name of Jesus
  • The blood of Jesus
  • Praises and worship
  • Our attitude
  • Prayers and fasting

I would develop these points in my next post.
